Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to Rockbank Primary School. It is my privilege to be the principal of such a wonderful school. Rockbank Primary is an excellent school, which aims to achieve the best possible outcomes in student learning. Our school provides a learning environment where children can have fun, progress in their learning and develop their creativity and curiosity. We offer a school setting where our children feel cared for and valued.

Our school has proudly served the Rockbank community since 1868, and it is an honour to be part of its rich history while helping shape its exciting future. As our local community continues to grow, so too does our school. We embrace this growth while remaining committed to maintaining the strong sense of belonging and connection that has always been at the heart of Rockbank Primary School.

Everything we do is guided by our core values of Respect, Learning, Togetherness and Safety. These values underpin the relationships we build, the learning experiences we provide and the culture we nurture each day. Alongside our mission to Nurture, Believe and Achieve, we create a school where every student is supported to reach their full potential, develop confidence in themselves and become lifelong learners.

Our teaching and learning programs are aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and are designed to meet the individual needs of every learner. We recognise that every child learns differently and at their own pace. Through Individual Learning Plans, targeted intervention and extension programs, and high-quality teaching practices, we ensure that every student is challenged, supported and celebrated throughout their learning journey.

At Rockbank Primary School, we focus on the whole child. We encourage curiosity, creativity and a love of learning while fostering resilience, independence and positive relationships. Our students enjoy engaging specialist programs in Auslan, Visual Arts, Music and Physical Education, along with access to modern learning technologies that enhance classroom experiences and prepare them for the future.

The wellbeing of our students is central to everything we do. Our dedicated Wellbeing Team work alongside all staff to ensure every child feels connected, supported and cared for. We believe that when students feel safe and nurtured, they are empowered to learn, grow and succeed.

We also recognise that strong partnerships between school and home are essential to student success and warmly encourage parents and carers to become active members of our school community through School Council, parent forums, classroom activities, special events, sporting programs and celebrations throughout the year. Together, we create a welcoming and supportive environment where every family belongs.
